Near Kalo Nero there are small uninhabited isles, like the Oenussae islands, Proti, Sfaktiria, Schiza, Venetiko, Agia Mariani, ideal places to visit by yacht or boat, to the South of Messinia. A few miles away are Strofades islands, Zakynthos, Ithaca, and Kefallonia.
